Health Benefits From Skating

Skating Health

Benefits of Skating:

Roller skating is a great form of aerobic exercise. It is recognized by the American Heart Association (AHA) as an aerobic fitness sport. “Roller skating involves almost all of your body’s muscles, especially your heart,” says the AHA.

A research study performed at UCLA discovered that roller skating is equivalent to jogging in terms of its health benefits. Just one hour of moderate roller skating burns 330 calories (at six miles per hour) on a 143-pound person. If that same person roller skates vigorously, he or she will burn up to 590 calories in an hour.

Benefits to Children:

Roller skating contributes to the well-being and physical health of children in a way that is fun and interactive, while also providing an excellent aerobic workout. Check it out!

Safe for Children:

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has found roller skating twice as safe as playgrounds, and three times safer than basketball or football. In addition, roller skating centers offer safe, drug-, alcohol- and smoke-free fun in a clean, wholesome supervised environment.
